An overnight two-alarm fire in Northwest Washington lit up the skyline north of Georgetown and sent smoke across the District of Columbia. The fire was in a large home under renovation in the 2600 block of 31st Street NW, just off Embassy Row near the vice-president’s residence at the Naval Observatory. DC firefighters were met with exposure problems that threatened nearby homes. Details are in the tweets below from DC Fire & EMS and others. As you will see in one of the tweets below, I also had a nice view of the fire from the World Headquarters of STATter911 about 4 miles away.
