WCPO-TV has a fairly detailed account and video.

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

A “mayday” broadcast signaling a firefighter was in danger was briefly issued this morning during a house fire in South Fairmount.

The Cincinnati firefighter was rescued from the house, fire officials said.

Medical personnel were checking the firefighter at the scene. The injuries were unknown, but officials said it appeared the firefighter would be OK.

Crews were called to Tremont Street near Pinetree Street just after 6:15 a.m. and saw heavy fire on the first and second floors. The blaze was working its way up the attic, firefighters said.

It appeared the house was vacant, fire offiicals said. They remained on the scene after bringing the fire under control.

There’s no immediate word on how much damage was caused or what sparked the fire.
