Summary: Firefighters from the City of Victorville responded to a reported structure fire in the 14500 block of Peral St, in Victorville. The first engine arrived on-scene within (3) minutes and reported a well involved attached garage with extension to the home. With an aggressive fire attack and vertical ventilation, the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. Residents stated they smelled smoke and opened up the garage door to see a large fire in the garage. Thankfully they shut the door, which helped isolate the fire to the garage. All residents self-evacuated and called 911 to report the fire. As a precaution, fire crews did a search to confirm all residents were evacuated. (4) Engines, (1) Truck Company, (1) Battalion Chief responded to the fire. One victim was treated and released at the scene for smoke inhalation.

A quick response to the scene helped keep the fire at bay, and reduce damages to the home.

Remember to have and practice a home escape plan, including your families meeting place. This avoids confusion in case of an emergency, and allows your family to account for each family member.
